[en] Languages on the Island of Montreal

After the languages of Canada now something local: the languages spoken on the Island of Montreal, Quebec.
Main languages: French (blue) and English (red)
The first map is not surprising: Most people in West Island, Westmount etc. speak English, whereas the central and eastern parts of the island as well as Île Bizard are francophone. The map shows neither the multilingual character of CDN-NDG nor the low number of anglophones in Montréal-Nord, however.

The second map shows which non-official language has the most speakers. Arabic and Spanish dominate here, with pockets of other languages:
Chinese in Dorval and Pointe-Claire, German in Baie-d'Urfé and Senneville, Russian in Côte-Saint-Luc, Creole in Montréal-Nord, Cambodian in Montréal-Est, Hebrew and Yiddish in Hampstead and Outremont, respectively. Considerable Italian minorities remain in Kirkland and Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue, Montreal West, LaSalle, and the far east of the island.

And where do the immigrants come from? The 3rd map shows the most frequent birth countries (other than Canada) by town and borough:
