Between 1960 and 2020, the population of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg has doubled. The neighbouring countries have not seen such drastic increases:
- +99% in Luxembourg
- +26% in Belgium
- +20% in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate
- +18% in the French Moselle department
- –7% in the German state of Saarland
